The Turkish General Staff announced in a written statement on Monday that one sergeant has been heavily injured after a mine, which had been placed by PKK terrorists, exploded in Yuksekova District of the southeastern province of Hakkari.

The sergeant reportedly stepped on the mine during an operation to seize PKK terrorists.

The security forces killed four militants who were found with their weapons and explosives.

In the meantime, PKK terrorists carried out another attack in the Cukurca district of Hakkari.

They attacked a government office late on Monday with rocket launchers and long barreled weapons.

No casualties were reported in the attack; however the building was slightly damaged.

A large scale operation was launched in the region to seize the terrorists.
