A Turkish soldier died in a hospital after being wounded during an operation against the terrorist PKK group in Turkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakir.

Another soldier was also wounded in the operation in Diyarbakir's Silvan town Wednesday, according to security sources.

The wounded soldiers were taken to Dicle University Medical Faculty Hospital in the province.

The terrorist PKK organisation resumed its armed campaign late in July. More than 150 members of the security forces have been martyred in the violence while the military says it has killed around 2,000 terrorists.
