The Turkish Army announced in a statement on Tuesday that one soldier was "martyred" during ongoing anti terror operations against the PKK while two terrorists were found dead with their weapons beside them in Bitlis Province.

The clashes erupted in the same region of Bitlis where two other soldiers died when PKK terrorists detonated a bomb remotely on Monday.

During the clashes on Tuesday, another soldier was injured.

The statement said that wide ranging operations are still continuing in the area to seize the terrorists.

PKK terror attacks have killed more than 180 security officials and over 30 civilians in Turkey since the group’s umbrella organisation, the KCK, unilaterally ended a two-and-a-half-year-long ceasefire with the government on July 11.
