Turkish General Staff said that one soldier was ‘martyred’ after being attacked by PKK terrorists in front yard of his house in Turkey’s southeastern province of Sirnak on Wednesday.
The statement by the army said that the terrorists opened fire on the soldier who had left his house to join his troops early in the morning.
The heavily wounded soldier could not be able to saved despite all the medical efforts.
Security forces launched an investigation in the region to seize PKK terrorists.
The PKK, considered to be a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the US and EU, resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in late July.
Since then, more than 200 members of the Turkish security forces have died while many civilians have been killed in PKK attacks.
