Airbnb under pressure in San Francisco

Thousands of San Francisco residents rent out rooms or their homes using Airbnb or similar platforms but now the city says they have to register.

People in San Francisco wanting to rent their homes on sites like Airbnb now have to register with the authorities.

If they don't, the online platforms they use can be fined up to $1,000.

Airbnb says it shouldn't be responsible for information posted by users but a US court judge has said both sides need to sort out their relationship.
