The FARC gives up its arms. Here's how

The Colombian guerrilla movement has been out in the cold for 50 years. After signing a historic peace deal with the government, the FARC will start a disarmament process which is expected to help rebuild social ties and boost Colombia's economy.

The government expects close to 17,500 FARC members to disarm as part of the peace deal. The FARC held a rebel congress in Yari Plains, Colombia to prepare for the terms of the truce.
