US farmers battle depression

There are a number of factors including the social isolation of farming but the biggest pressure is financial. Farm incomes have dropped by half in the last five years alone and the prospects aren't looking any brighter.

US Health officials say farmers in America are facing a mental health crisis. 

As their economic prospects deteriorate, an increasing number are taking their own lives. 

Now, it's feared the levying of tariffs by China on US agricultural products will make the situation even worse.
