Amid the US–Israeli war on Iran, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz has stalled 1/3 of global fertiliser trade, echoing the massive supply shocks following the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022.

With Gulf countries being the top suppliers of raw fertiliser ingredients, global crop yields and food security are at a breaking point once again.
