Proponents of the ban say the lack of a paper trail from the use of cash fosters corruption in the world's second most populous country.
A new policy in India banning large paper bills is causing headaches for some consumers and businesses. But analysts say the cash ban makes it easier for authorities to keep track of who is on the take. And politicians who are promising to fight bribery are winning popular support.
