Be it Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or our website or mobile apps, we’re looking for a candidate who understands the importance of creating unique experiences exclusively for each platform.

The Role

The Trends Producer is part of the digital strategy team, focused on providing constructive information to the newsroom about stories that are active online. The role requires a news junkie with their finger on the pulse of social media platforms. She/He must be abreast of every small or big change taking place on digital platforms and instantly inform the newsroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify online trends before they become viral

  • Alert the newsroom of emerging trends and viral stories

  • Develop daily news briefs for the newsrooms

  • Ensure that relevant content is being shared across specific social media platforms

  • Work and liaise with different teams and departments on relevant stories online

  • Develop digestible content suitable for social media out of long-form content

  • Create new and unique content for platforms like instagram and snapchat

  • Spot the well-performing TRT World content and notify the relevant teams

  • Be the interface of the Audience Engagement team with the rest of the organisation

Requirements

  • Experienced social media user

  • Innovative understanding of digital platforms

  • An unstoppable newshound with a good grasp of global issues

  • On top of industry developments in social media and digital publishing

  • Energised by the challenge of transposing the narrative of TRT World onto new platforms

  • Ability to collaborate with correspondents to pitch cross-platform stories to editors

  • Strong writing and speaking skills

  • Experience in using data collected from analytics tools such as Facebook Insights

  • An understanding of social networks, and new emerging trends and platforms

  • Knowledge of Adobe product  is a plus
