Palestinian resistance group Hamas said its fighters succeeded in ambushing Israeli troops in Tuffah area in eastern Gaza City killing and injuring several soldiers.

The Israeli military announced later that a soldier was killed in the fighting, the first fatality since Israel breached the ceasefire last month.

The military added that three other soldiers were also wounded.

Hundreds of Israeli soldiers have been killed in by Palestinian resistance during the ongoing Israeli brutal war on the tiny enclave.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed his commitment to preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, declaring he would not waver in that effort.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed concern over the recent US air strikes in and around Yemen’s port of Ra’s Isa, his spokesman said.

Guterres is "gravely concerned about the airstrikes conducted by the United States over the course of 17 and 18 April in and around Yemen’s port of Ra’s Isa, which reportedly resulted in scores of civilian casualties, including five humanitarian workers injured," Stephane Dujarric said in a statement.

Guterres is also "alarmed" by reports of significant damage to the port infrastructure and of possible oil leaks into the Red Sea, Dujarric said.

Armed illegal Israeli settlers stormed the Bedouin village of Ras Ein al-Auja, north of Jericho in the occupied eastern West Bank, attacking Palestinian-owned property, according to eyewitnesses and human rights groups.

Hassan Mleihat, coordinator of the al-Baydar Organisation for the Defence of Bedouin Rights, said armed illegal settlers in groups entered the village with herds of sheep, grazing them near Palestinian homes, damaging property, and trying to stop residents from reaching their lands.

“Settler attacks on Bedouin communities have sharply escalated and now target every aspect of Bedouin life,” Mleihat said.
