US President Donald Trump has called for Israel to pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or cancel his trial on corruption charges.

"Bibi Netanyahu's trial should be CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY, or a Pardon given to a Great Hero, who has done so much for the State (of Israel)," Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding that he had learned that Netanyahu was due to appear in court on Monday.

Trump extolled Netanyahu and said in his post: "It was the United States of America that saved Israel, and now it is going to be the United States of America that saves Bibi Netanyahu."

That appeared to be a reference to US involvement and support for illegal Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear programme.

Iran's intelligence services have arrested 26 people, accusing them of collaborating with Israel, state media Fars news agency reported, days after a ceasefire between the two countries was announced.

"These individuals were identified as operatives and deceived participants in the recent imposed war by the Zionist regime have been arrested by the Intelligence Organization of the Hazrat Vali Asr Corps," Iranian state media Fars news agency said.

"Most of them have confessed to their actions, including anti-security activities, spreading public anxiety, and acts of sabotage," it added, citing a statement by the organisation.

Iran has reopened the airspace over the country's east, state media reported, following a ceasefire with Israel that ended 12 days of fighting.

Iran had closed its skies since June 13 after Israel launched a major aggression that prompted Iran to retaliate with waves of missile strikes.

A ceasefire between the two came into effect on Tuesday.

"The airspace over the eastern half of the country has been reopened to international overflights as well as domestic and international flights solely with origin or destination in airports located in eastern Iran," Transport Ministry spokesman Majid Akhavan said, according to the official IRNA news agency.

Nuclear enrichment and weaponisation by Iran are red lines for the United States, President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff has told CNBC, adding that he was hopeful for a comprehensive peace agreement with Tehran.

"We can't have weaponisation," he said. "That will destabilise the entire region. Everyone will then need a bomb and we just can't have that."

Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe has said a body of credible intelligence indicated that Iran's nuclear programme was severely damaged by recent US strikes, and that it would take years to be rebuilt.

"This includes new intelligence from a historically reliable and accurate source/method that several key Iranian nuclear facilities were destroyed and would have to be rebuilt over the course of years," Ratcliffe said in a statement.

US President Donald Trump has demanded that CNN fire correspondent Natasha Bertrand for an Iran nuclear damage report.

"Natasha Bertrand should be FIRED from CNN! I watched her for three days doing Fake News. She should be IMMEDIATELY reprimanded, and then thrown out 'like a dog'," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The report said US intelligence concluded that the weekend air strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities did not destroy the fundamental structure of Iran's nuclear programme, likely setting it back by only months.

The brief but intense conflict caused heavy economic losses for both Iran and Israel, with global trade disrupted and diverted flights. The aftermath may linger longer, experts say.

US National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard said that "new intelligence confirms" Iran's nuclear facilities have been "destroyed" in weekend strikes.

"New intelligence confirms what (the US president) has stated numerous times: Iran's nuclear facilities have been destroyed," Gabbard wrote on X.

She said Iran would need to "rebuild all three facilities (Natanz, Fordow, Esfahan) entirely, which would likely take years to do," if Tehran chose to reconstruct them.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country welcomes the newly declared ceasefire between Iran and Israel, adding that he expects both sides to “fully comply with my friend (US President Donald) Trump’s call unconditionally.”

In remarks following a NATO summit in The Hague, Erdogan confirmed that Türkiye had been involved in intense diplomatic efforts from the onset of the recent military hostilities between Israel and Iran, which he said “posed serious risks to the region.”
