The Taliban have given assurances of safe passage for all seeking to leave Afghanistan with proper travel documents, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at a joint news conference with Qatar’s top diplomats and defense officials.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani also discussed regional issues during a meeting in Doha.
In June of last year, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain collectively severed ties with Doha, accusing it of supporting terrorism.
"What happened to Qatar six months ago is happening now to Lebanon. The leadership in Saudi Arabia and the UAE need to understand ... there is no right for any country to interfere in other countries' affairs," says Al Thani.
