Nigeria's government says Boko Haram militants have returned 101 of the 110 girls who were abducted from their school in Dapchi a month ago.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari says he is sending more troops and reconnaissance aircraft to look for the schoolgirls abducted in Monday's attack by Boko Haram. The group had abducted over 270 girls from the northeastern town of Chibok in 2014.
Nigeria's Yobe government apologises for falsely reporting rescue of girls who went missing after an attack on their school. The disappearance is the biggest since the abduction of 270 Chibok schoolgirls in 2014.
The Nigerian military has rescued 76 schoolgirls and recovered the bodies of two others, according to three parents, a resident and a local government official.
Since the beginning of the year, 83 children have been used to carry out bomb attacks in northeast Nigeria – four times as many attacks as in all of 2016, UNICEF said in a statement.
