One of the world's deadliest terrorist groups Boko Haram gained international notoriety when it kidnapped 276 schoolgirls from Chibok town, Nigeria in 2014.
Nigeria's military said they rescued more than 1,000 people held captive in northeastern Nigeria from the jihadi group Boko Haram. The hostages were consisted mainly of women and children.
Boko Haram kidnapped 110 girls from a school in Dapchi, four weeks ago. Leah Sharibu, 15, was held back on Wednesday when 105 of her classmates were freed by Boko Haram after negotiations.

Nigeria's Yobe government apologises for falsely reporting rescue of girls who went missing after an attack on their school. The disappearance is the biggest since the abduction of 270 Chibok schoolgirls in 2014.
