Ahed Tamimi and Dareen Tatour are equally heroic Palestinians, and both have an important message for the world. But only one of these voices does not get the recognition it deserves.
An Israeli court on Tuesday slapped prominent Palestinian poet Dareen Tatour with a five-month jail term for “inciting terrorism” on social-networking platforms.
Dareen Tatour, 36, said after the hearing that she would appeal the ruling. In 2015, she posted lines from her poem on Facebook, which read, “Resist, my people, resist them. Resist the settlers' robbery and follow the caravan of martyrs.”
