More than 140,000 Libyans have fled their homes since April when warlord Khalifa Haftar's militants launched a military campaign to capture Tripoli from the internationally recognised government.
Libya's internationally recognized government on Friday accepted a ceasefire request from the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), according to a statement posted by the government on Twitter.
The UN-recognised GNA announced finding US-made weapons at seized base belonging to warlord Khalifa Haftar. Seized weapons included four Javelin anti-tank missiles packed in wooden crates marked "armed forces of the United Arab Emirates."
Libya’s Prime Minister Fayez al Sarraj accuses France of supporting the renegade general, just a day after details emerge of French intelligence operatives working in the country.
