Eleven human rights activists, including Amnesty International's director for Turkey, were detained in July at a meeting near Istanbul and charged with terrorism.
The Turkish foreign ministry said statements by the spokesmen for the German chancellor and foreign ministry constituted "diplomatic rudeness" and the judiciary cannot be instructed or counseled by anyone.
Local Amnesty director Idil Eser is one of 10 activists, including a German and a Swedish national, who have been accused of aiding terror organisations.
