Police in Scotland identified the suspect who was shot dead by officers during a knife attack in the city of Glasgow as Badreddin Abadlla Adam, 28, from Sudan.
The attack happened at about 10:00 pm on Saturday, the seventh night of Hanukkah, with about 100 people gathered for a candle-lighting ceremony. Suspect Grafton Thomas denied the charges of five counts of attempted murder
The attack was carried out in Villeurbanne, a Lyon suburb, in southeastern France.
A male suspect was brought "under control" and the wounded students were taken to hospital, three of them seriously injured. The attack was in the Xicheng district of the capital, Beijing. The assailant was arrested and is being questioned.
