Officials blame Mai-Mai militia for killing six park guards in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo's Virunga National Park, home to about a quarter of the world's critically endangered mountain gorillas.
The health workers were killed when Mai-Mai fighters attacked a centre run by the United Nations health agency overnight in Biakato area of the Democratic Republic of Congo, local officials say.
The overnight attack blamed on rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces group comes as the deadly Ebola outbreak in the east surpasses 2,000 cases.
At least six people, including two soldiers, died during clashes between the Congolese army and so-called Mai-Mai armed groups in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday.
