After more than five decades of fighting and atrocities during the country's war with FARC, the former rebels are finding it difficult to persuade the public to vote for their party.
The FARC announced that they will halt campaign events until their safety can be sufficiently assured.
Recent opinion polls show just two percent support for the party, with many Colombians angry at the FARC, infamous for kidnappings, bombings and displacements, and believing its members should be in prison, not campaigning.
