A far-right lawmaker and an ex-protester have prevailed in Chile's presidential election with a narrow gap between them, leading Chile towards a runoff between two political extremes.
A record three-million-plus people have voted early, officials say, in elections that will determine control of the chamber and with it the ability to block or advance Democratic President-elect Joe Biden's agenda.
The second round will be between former martial arts star Khaltmaa Battulga of the opposition Democratic Party, who won the most votes, and ruling Mongolian People's Party (MPP) candidate Miyeegombo Enkhbold.
