A top advisor to US President Joe Biden says Washington will help address Türkiye's objections to Finland and Sweden's membership bids, after Ankara criticised the countries for supporting terror groups.
Countries supporting terrorism should not be allies in NATO, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu says, expressing concerns over Sweden and Finland's support to the PKK terror group.
These "Scandinavian countries are like terrorist groups guesthouses ... there are supporters of terrorism in parliament. We cannot be positive towards this," Turkish President Erdogan says.
“These are not a short-term stop-gap, but a long-term commitment to bolster military ties and global stability, and fortify Europe’s defences for generations to come,” UK PM Johnson says.
