Negotiators launch final efforts to sign a peace deal to bring an end the conflict that killed and injured at least 1,500 civilians only in July in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan government "preparing for direct talks" with the Taliban "in a European country," state minister for peace affairs Abdul Salam Rahimi says.
"Nothing is agreed until everything is agreed, and 'everything' must include an intra-Afghan dialogue and comprehensive ceasefire," said US special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad.
