TRT World is delighted to announce the global launch of "Bloom - Daily Videos", a new R&D app from TRT World. Delivering five videos to iPhone each weekday, Bloom helps to discover what's happening in the world, featuring a playlist of short- and long-form videos that can be consumed quickly as part of a daily routine.

The content featured in the app is a curated blend of original digital videos and TV show episodes such as Showcase, Beyond the Game, Nexus and Route 66

According to Riyaad Minty, Acting Director of Digital, the app is a fresh approach that complements existing digital offerings from TRT World. “Like our Daily News Brief, the Bloom app is designed for casual users to pick up and consume all the way through, and return the next day for more,” he noted.

Designed to be used while idle or on the move, Bloom represents the future of smart app design, with its use of sensor technology to intelligently know when you’re walking or driving and automatically switch between audio and video modes. As one of the first media apps to leverage motion-tracking technology, Bloom serves as a real-world example for other apps to follow. 

Derrick Fountain, Digital Products Lead at TRT World, describing Bloom’s role in TRT World’s broader digital strategy, says, “The goal of Bloom is to extend the reach of our best video content to new audiences through a standalone video-focused app experience. With Bloom, we’re able to elevate and improve the discovery of powerful and compelling video content outside of crowded news apps and social platforms.” 

In comparison with existing video news apps in the market, Mohammad Ziyaad Hassen, Acting Manager of Digital Strategy, says, “TRT World is producing video content catering to specific audiences on the platforms where they are most active. This new R&D app is part of that broader strategy to reach targeted users who enjoy consuming video on mobile devices.”

With users spending a combined total of less than five minutes per week on an individual app, according to data from Localytics, TRT World is looking to deliver the ultimate “video snacking” experience.
