TRT World Forum, in its third year, brings together international opinion leaders as well as distinguished figures in global politics including María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés, President of the United Nations Parliament Assembly for the 73rd session, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, former President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dilma Vana Rousseff, former President of Brazil, Anwar Ibrahim, The People's Justice Party Leader in Malaysia, Yanis Varoufakis, the main opposition leader in Greece, George Ciamba, Romanian Delegate-Minister for European Affairs, Christian Kern, former Chancellor of Austria, Esko Aho, former Finnish Prime Minister and Riyad Farid Hijab, former Syrian Prime Minister in İstanbul.

TRT World Forum will take place on October 21st and 22nd in Istanbul Congress Centre under the theme of "Globalisation in Retreat: Risks and Opportunities" in which political, economic and social issues that concern the entire world, such as far-right terrorism, the rise of populism and nationalism, the future of the Middle East, trade wars, future of the European Union and the cooperation of emerging powers will be addressed.

TRT World Forum which has launched by Turkeys public broadcaster, TRT in 2017 with the aim of seeking global solutions to current, cultural, political, economic and social problems continues to shed light on today's regional and global problems in its third year.

TRT World Forum, as in previous years, will bring together over six hundred esteemed politicians, policy makers, academics, journalists, and leading experts in Istanbul. The forum will highlight the most pressing global issues of our time.

On the first day of the TRT World Forum, there will be four sessions under the title of "The Allure of Identity Politics in a Globalised World", "New Horizons for Emerging Powers: Co-operation or Competition?", "NATO under the Gun: The Emergence of New Security Challenges", "The Threat of Far-right Extremism: War on Terror 2.0?".

On the second day of the forum, Vice President of Turkey, Fuat Oktay will make a opening keynote speech on "Revisiting Humanitarian Diplomacy Towards Inclusive Development". Following the opening speech, three sessions will be held on the topics of "The Middle East at a Crossroad: Regional Responses to Shifting Challenges", "The Assassination of Jamal Khashoggi: A Reflection of Regional Politics?", "EU: A Vote of No Confidence? ".
