Humans of wars: Hikmet Mamo, 10 years old, Syrian refugee
What does a 10-year-old want from life? Friends. Toys. Stability. Hikmet Mamo is 10 and left all that behind in Syria.
"I miss it very much. My mother packed everything up and we came here, from Gaziantep to Istanbul, to a house full of insects. I miss my grandfather's house the most because it was the most beautiful"
His only memory of the war is a photograph of his grandfather's house, which was demolished. But he has other, fonder memories of life in Syria.
"I have a friend named Nuri. I love him very much. I have a lot of friends back home. And toys. I miss it all."
