Turkish freediver sets new world record
Derya Can went down 94 metres, almost 300 feet, into the Mediterranean Sea near the southern Turkish resort town of Kas.
Derya Can is a Turkish competitive freediver – meaning she relies on calm, concentration, and endurance to dive as deep as possible without bringing any extra oxygen with her on her perilous journey beneath the waves.
TRT World's Julia Mills joined Can in the southern Turkish town of Kas, known to tourists for its beautiful scenery, as she set a new world record in the category of "constant weight without fins at sea."
