US credit score at risk of falling as debt ceiling fight drags on
One of the world's biggest credit rating agencies says the US could see its triple AAA credit score fall because of the debt ceiling fight. Ratings agency Fitch, which tracks the credit worthiness of countries around the world, made the call on Thursday - as Republicans and Democrats, continue negotiating. Republicans want cuts to the budget, in return for voting to increase the debt ceiling, but Democrats have balked at some Republican demands. This wouldn't be the first time a downgrade has happened. In 2011, another ratings agency knocked US debt down, from triple A to double AA-plus, during a similar impasse in congress. #FitchRatings #USEconomy #USDebtCeiling
