Garment industry workers demand pay rise, rallies turn violent
Bangladesh's main exporting sector, the readymade garment industry, is experiencing severe turmoil, with recent massive and sometimes violent demonstrations by workers for better wages met with heavy retaliation from police. At least three workers were killed and dozens injured in a series of clashes over the past two weeks. Mohammad Kamruzzaman reports from Dhaka.
