Rivals Hamas and Fatah unite in a China-brokered deal
Palestinian political parties — and longtime rivals — Hamas and Fatah have agreed to “end division and strengthen unity” under a new agreement, the Beijing Declaration. The agreement stipulates that the two parties will form a national unity government for post-war Gaza that will oversee reconstruction and pave the way for elections.
