US Senate blocks bid to halt weapons sale to Israel
US Senate has blocked legislation to halt the sale of some US weapons to Israel. 79 of the 100 senators opposed the resolutions introduced by senator Bernie Sanders. He argued that military aid to Israel violates US law barring weapons sales to human rights abusers. Sami Nader from the Levant Institute for Strategic Affairs has more.
