The US embassy now stands in Jerusalem, bolstering Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's controversial claim on the city as Israel's undivided capital. And at a time when Germany and the UK are pushing for an investigation into the killings of more than 60 Palestinians, the US has proven itself Israel's loyal defender.
