On the night of July 15th, factions of the Turkish military linked to the Gulenist terror cult launched a failed coup attempt. Journalists had to transition from being targets during the coup to detailing the destruction after it. They were detailing the destruction from the night of the coup, but they were also trying to fathom how a secretive organization could exist within the state, and carry out such a bloody operation.
