Vanilla Shortage: Price of vanilla soars due to global shortage

A global shortage of vanilla has sent the price of the spice soaring to record highs over the past two years. More than 80 percent of the world's vanilla is cultivated in Madagascar, but harvests have been poor since a cyclone hit the island in 2017.
