CONIFA World Cup: How can football empower people?

In around a week's time the football world cup kicks off in Russia. But what about the alternative world cup being played here in London? 16 teams have come together from unrecognised nations, regions seeking independence and minority groups. Can football succeed in helping their cause when politics has failed? Joining us at the Roundtable is Sangita Jaghai, a researcher at the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion; Tom Perez, former Head of Communications and Community at Football Beyond Borders; Praise Ndlovu, the Captain of the Matabeleland team, which is taking part in this year's CONIFA World Cup; and the tournament's Commercial Director Paul Watson. Roundtable is a discussion programme with an edge. Broadcast out of London and presented by David Foster, it's about bringing people to the table, listening to every opinion, and analysing every point of view. From fierce debate to reflective thinking, Roundtable discussions offer a different perspective on the issues that matter to you. Watch it every weekday at 15:30 GMT on TRT World.
