Ladj Ly's Les Miserables

One of the nominees for the Best International Film Oscar is a first time director from France, whose film Les Miserables is a searing indictment of police violence and discrimination against minorities in Paris' deprived suburbs. The film uses mostly amateur actors and was shot partly in the building where the director himself grew up. Elena Casas reports. #LesMiserables #Oscar #France
