Ireland’s nationalist Sinn Fein party led by Mary Lou McDonald won the popular vote in this month’s general election, securing the second most seats in parliament. It has ambitions to form the next government but talks with other left-wing parties have so far failed to produce a coalition. So, can Sinn Fein find a way forward after its election success?
