Taliban rejects Afghan government's calls to extend ceasefire

The Taliban have rejected the Afghan government's calls for extending the Eid ceasefire, dashing hopes for peace talks to end the deadly conflict. The three-day Eid ceasefire was the first formal, nationwide ceasefire in the country since the 2001 US invasion.
