Ethiopia signs deal to use Somaliland's Red Sea port
Somaliland, a former British protectorate, declared independence from Somalia in 1991 – a move not recognized by Mogadishu, or by most of the rest of the world. Now, neighboring Ethiopia has signed a memorandum of understanding with the breakaway region, gaining access to Somaliland’s Red Sea port in exchange for formally recognizing its independence. The deal has received widespread condemnation. Emre Boz reports.
