An Israeli air strike damaged a Doctors Without Borders (MSF) bus in Gaza City and injured a staff member, the medical charity said on Monday.

MSF said the bus was carrying 10 humanitarian workers when an Israeli strike hit a targeted vehicle just two metres (6.5 feet) away on September 13.

The group said the bus was clearly identifiable, with a large MSF logo visible on its roof.

“Once again, Israeli forces have shown a blatant disregard for the safety of humanitarian and medical personnel,” MSF said.

The organisation said nowhere in Gaza was safe and called for the protection of civilians, healthcare workers and humanitarian staff.

It also urged Israeli forces to spare clearly marked medical and humanitarian vehicles from attacks.

Israeli violations of a ceasefire agreement had killed 1,372 Palestinians and injured 4,659 others as of Monday, according to the latest figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Since October 8, 2023, Israel has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and injured over 174,000 others in its genocide in Gaza, while destroying around 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure.
