Iran’s Foreign Ministry has said recent US strikes have effectively rendered the April 8 ceasefire “meaningless,” warning that Washington will bear responsibility for the consequences of what it called a dangerous escalation.
In a strongly worded statement on Thursday, the ministry condemned what it described as large-scale US attacks on Iranian territory, calling them a “blatant violation” of the UN Charter and core principles of international law.
It also accused the US of using facilities and territory in regional countries to carry out operations against Iran, warning that such actions make those states “partners to aggression” and urging them not to allow their soil to be used for hostile activity.
The ministry called on UN member states and the Security Council to explicitly condemn what it described as violations by the United States and Israel, while urging UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to present a clear account of the situation.

Tehran rejects claims of military setbacks
Separately, Iran’s armed forces pushed back against US claims that Iranian air defence systems had been destroyed, insisting the country remains fully prepared and militarily stronger than at the start of the conflict.
Military spokesperson Abolfazl Shekarchi dismissed the US reports as propaganda, saying Iran’s capabilities remain intact and warning that battlefield realities contradict external claims.
He also said Iran had inflicted greater losses on US forces than it has sustained, while reaffirming support for regional allied groups described by Tehran as part of the “resistance front.”
Shekarchi added that Iran retains multiple strategic options, including control over key maritime chokepoints, though he said such decisions would be revealed only if necessary.
