Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with US President Donald Trump on Sunday, according to a statement from Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.
During the call, Erdogan expressed solidarity with Trump following the attempted attack at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington.

He described the incident as a heinous act targeting democracy and press freedom, and wished a swift recovery to the injured security officer.
