A drone strike has killed two people in Sumy in northern Ukraine, the head of the city's military administration has said.
"As a result of a jet-powered drone strike on a post office, two people were killed, one of them a 49-year-old man; the identity of the second man is being established," said the official, Sergiy Kryvosheenko, on Saturday.
In Zaporizhzhia in southern Ukraine, a man was injured in an "enemy attack", said the head of the military administration there, Ivan Fedorov.
The strikes came a day after a Russian ballistic missile hit a private training ground in the Bucha district of the Kiev region, where a defence industry event was being held, killing at least 10 people and injuring about 100 others.
The event, hosted by a drone manufacturers’ association, was attended by representatives of Ukraine’s defence industry. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said such gatherings should not be held during wartime, particularly near residential areas.
‘Massive enemy drone attack’
Ukrainian prosecutors have opened an investigation into possible negligence in the organisation of the event.
Moscow said it targeted a facility where drones allegedly used in attacks on Russian territory were being displayed.
A day earlier, Zelenskyy had met representatives of Patriot manufacturer Raytheon to discuss strengthening Ukraine’s air defences and possible joint production.
Elsewhere, Russian guided bomb strikes killed five people and injured at least 15 in the eastern city of Sloviansk on Friday.
Latvia said the attacks destroyed its honorary consulate and injured two staff members.
On the Russian side, the acting governor of the Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, reported on social media early Saturday a "massive enemy drone attack" on the city of Belgorod.
"Sadly, there are wounded, who have been promptly taken to hospitals," he said. "There is damage and fires on the streets, which fire crews are extinguishing".
