Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Türkiye and the United States, as well as regional and global developments.

Erdogan told Trump on Saturday that he expects cooperation between the two countries to grow further and pledged efforts to strengthen mutual ties in the period ahead, Türkiye's Communications Directorate said.

On the tension between Iran and the United States, Erdogan said it must end and urged that the disputes be resolved through diplomacy.

He pledged Türkiye’s continued efforts for peace.

Erdogan also voiced hope that increased diplomatic efforts to end the war between Ukraine and Russia would succeed.

He said Türkiye would continue to contribute to these efforts and stressed the importance of increased engagement with both sides.

During the call, Erdogan also thanked Trump for his support for the Summit of the Organisation of Turkic States.

On October 28, Erdogan conveyed to Trump that Türkiye and its partners in the Mecca Joint Defence Alliance were closely monitoring developments in the Strait of Hormuz and Yemen and working to resolve the issues through diplomacy.

Trump again called Erdogan during a dinner attended by leaders marking Türkiye’s October 29 Republic Day, conveying his best wishes for the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) summit.

In a statement posted on X, Duran said the visit would take place on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Victory Day.

During the visit, Erdogan and Aliyev will hold bilateral talks to discuss various aspects of Türkiye-Azerbaijan cooperation, as well as regional and global developments.
