At least two people were killed and four others remained missing after Typhoon Dujuan brought record rainfall, flooding and landslides to parts of Japan, state media reported Tuesday.
The storm brought record rainfall to the Kanto region and Tokyo's outlying islands, triggering flooding and landslides, according to public broadcaster NHK.
The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a Level 5 landslide warning, the country's highest alert level, and urged residents in affected areas to remain vigilant.
Although the typhoon was moving away from Japan, flooding continued in parts of Chiba prefecture, near Tokyo.
Landslides were also reported in Yokosuka in neighbouring Kanagawa prefecture.
Two people were killed in Chiba and Kanagawa, while search and rescue operations continued for at least four others reported missing after landslides struck their homes.
