Russian bombardment has killed six people and wounded dozens in Ukraine's capital and its surrounding region overnight, authorities said.
The attack, which damaged residential buildings, a medical facility and an educational institution, left five people dead and 23 wounded, the Kiev city military administration said in a statement on Thursday.
An attack in the Brovary district of the broader Kiev region killed one man and wounded another.
An earlier toll update said the attack left at least two women killed and six others wounded in the capital.
Ukraine's Air Force also warned of Russian "Kalibr" missiles in the vicinity of the village of Kagarlyk within the Kiev region, heading towards the capital.
Both Russia and Ukraine have ramped up attacks in recent months, with Moscow increasing its long-range strikes on towns and cities across Ukraine.
While Kiev has faced near-nightly attacks, Ukraine has also escalated its retaliatory strikes on Russia in recent months, partly to pressure Moscow to the negotiating table after nearly four and a half years of war.
