Supporters demanding the release of jailed former Pakistani premier Imran Khan breached barricades of shipping containers sealing off Islamabad.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the action on Tuesday, labelling the protesters an "anarchist group" deliberately attacking law enforcement.

The ex-cricketer-turned-politician has been imprisoned since August 2023, facing a litany of charges including corruption, inciting riots and illegal marriage.
