Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has attended a reception hosted by US President Donald Trump in honour of heads of state and delegates attending the United Nations General Assembly.
The closed-door gathering took place at the Lotte Palace Hotel on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The diplomatic reception followed a major multilateral summit on Iran held earlier in the day at the United Nations Headquarters, convened and hosted by Trump alongside leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

The high-level session at the UN brought together heads of state, government leaders, and foreign ministers from 11 regional nations to address the escalating conflict with Iran.
Alongside Türkiye, the multilateral meeting included delegations from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman, as well as representatives from Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon.
Earlier in the day, speaking to reporters outside the Turkish House (Türkevi) in New York following the talks, Erdogan said Türkiye and other regional countries were working to overcome the challenges facing the Gulf.
"That’s what we’re working on,” Erdogan said when asked whether the meeting could produce a solution to the problems discussed.
"About eight countries took part in this meeting in an effort to overcome the difficulties in the Gulf as soon as possible. We will see the fruits and results of these efforts in the near future,” he added.
