The Yemeni army has struck a Houthi military camp in northern Yemen's Al-Jawf province, destroying military capabilities at the site.
Army spokesman Majid al-Nuzaili said the operation targeted the Al-Labanat camp and deployed "specialised capabilities" that were recently introduced into active service.
In a statement broadcast by state television, al-Nuzaili stated that the strike destroyed Houthi equipment and neutralised personnel positioned at the base.
He did not disclose specific details regarding the weaponry used or confirmed casualty figures.
Regional escalation
Yemen had experienced a relative lull in violence since April 2022, following nearly 12 years of protracted war between internationally recognised government forces—backed by a Saudi-led coalition—and the Iranian-backed Houthis, who seized control of the capital Sanaa and substantial swathes of the country in 2014.
Since late 2023, following the outbreak of war in Gaza, the Houthis have expanded their involvement in regional hostilities by launching attacks towards Israel and targeting commercial shipping lanes across the Red Sea.
The latest strikes and renewed ground clashes have heightened concerns among observers over a breakdown of the truce and a potential return to widespread conflict across Yemen.
